Biography: “I grew up in Newton, Iowa, graduated from Perry High and attended Central College before working in commercial construction for a couple of years. I studied radio and electronics at Brown Institute in Minneapolis, and for twelve years worked in the radio industry as an announcer. Following this, I had a seven-year career in landscaping which equipped me for a full-scale building manager job I maintained for seven years before working at Firstcall Construction. At Firstcall, I am a project manager as well as the shop, safety and equipment manager. My wife, Nancy, and I live in Des Moines and have two grown children. Known as “Grampa” both on and off the job, I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren, camping and fishing."
