The
2008 Des Moines
Metro’s 8th Annual Tour of Remodeled Homes
will be held September 20-21 and Firstcall is
pleased to participate again this year by featuring
two of our recent projects.
Our first remodeled home is
located in Urbandale and started out as a fire
restoration project. Because the home needed
extensive work, the owners decided this was a good
time to have us create a more open floor plan for
entertaining family and friends. While restoring the
fire loss, Firstcall remodeled much of the main
level and created a completely new look for the
home. The new kitchen adjacent to the new hearth
room is now a pleasant area for relaxation and
conversation.

Our
second project, located in West Des Moines, is an
elegant 30-year-old, two-story home that underwent a
major whole-house remodel. Firstcall removed
interior walls to give the home a more open and
comfortable feel. The spotlight of this remodel is a
full kitchen renovation featuring cherry cabinets,
granite countertops, and hardwood floors. By
changing the functionality of the existing rooms,
Firstcall turned the formal dining room into a
hearth room, a great place for reading the morning
paper or a good book. The main level powder room was
relocated, creating a spacious flow from the kitchen
into the family area. The sunroom received a new
interior and the garage was remodeled as well.
We invite
you to tour both of our beautifully remodeled homes
this year!

Compare The Cost Of Moving To Remodeling.
Moving is expensive, typically involving a 6%
commission on the sale of your current home,
plus another 2-4% for closing, moving, and other
costs. If you like the present
neighborhood then look into what remodeling improvements
you could make with 8-10% of your home's current
value before you decide to move. |
